Mentha oil gains 1.41% on pick-up in demand

Mentha oil futures edged up by Rs 23.20 to Rs 1,669.10 per kg in futures trading today, as speculators enlarged their positions on the back of pick-up in domestic and export demand.
Tight supplies in the physical market following less arrivals from producing region further supported the uptrend in mentha oil futures.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, the March contract for mentha oil rose by Rs 23.20, or 1.41%, to Rs 1,669.10 per kg in business turnover of 555 lots.
The February contract gained Rs 20.90, or 1.29%, to Rs 1,635 per kg in 1,220 lots.
Marketmen said pick-up in domestic and export demand against restricted arrivals from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh, mainly led to rise in mentha oil prices at futrues trade.
