Amara Raja Q3 net profit soars 66%

Amara Raja Batteries today reported 66.28 increase in net profit for the quarter ended December 31, 2011, at Rs 65.93 crore.
The company had posted a net profit of Rs 39.65 crore in the corresponding period previous financial year, Amara Raja Batteries said in a filing to the BSE.
The consolidated total income during the third quarter also jumped by 44.07% to Rs 613.13 crore from Rs 425.57 crore in the year-ago period, it added.
Reacting to the numbers, the shares of the company were trading up 6.17% at Rs 271.05 apiece on the BSE in late afternoon.
